Ethical fashion links: Nike, pineapple fiber, Ascension sold
From Treehugger: Nike Creatives World Cup Jerseys from Landfill Plastic
From Asian Journal: Oliver Tolentino, finalist in Oscars’ Designer Challenge 2010. The Filipino designer’s dress is made out of the high-end fiber, piña or pineapple fiber, usually reserved for costumes of the upper class. Tolentino was also the only one to represent the Philippines at the United Nations’ Palais des Nations for EcoChic Geneva this past January.
From The Guardian: Adili/Ascension sold for measly £1 illustrating the challenges of growing an ethical fashion business from scratch without backing of large fashion houses or celebrities. I still appreciate the TONS of information defining the sectors of ethical fashion and the helpful resources and links they provide on their website.
