An exclusive press conference introducing the key innovators behind Philadelphia’s First Annual Independent Retail Week and offering a sneak peek at local participating designers’ collections vis á vis a mini-fashion show. Collaborative efforts such as this offer fashion-forward Philadelphians an opportunity to explore their city’s hidden retail
gems, while providing much needed support to lesser known boutiques and designers.

Independent Retail Week: Philadelphia is the inaugural week-long shopping extravaganza created by Nolcha starting June 14 through June 20 designed to help sustain the local retail economy. Bel Esprit, a Philadelphia-based, fashion showroom has partnered with Nolcha to provide a platform for independent retailers to showcase their
summer inventory and engage and show appreciation to valued customers via a week-long, city-wide series of in-store mini fashion shows, interactive events, special discounts and retailer demonstrations designed with the budget-savvy fashionista in mind. Additionally, Macy’s Center City will support Independent Retail Week with dedicated displays of independent fashion.
Additional activities planned include:
- An opportunity to design the Official shopping tote that will be given away throughout the City.
- Cocktail parties at select participating retailers
- Spa treatments at select participating retailers
- A pet fashion show highlighting the latest canine couture at Bonejour Pet Supply
- An umbrella drive to collect battered and broken umbrellas to be reconfigured into new
- fashion items with proceeds from all sales benefitting Haiti relief efforts.
